Feature creating light dappled effect using native species references.
Trout Feature is an interactive light feature located at the new Township Development with the intention of place-making.
The Opportunity
Heavy worked with Urban Systems and Royop Development Corporation for the development of a feature in the new township development.
The Approach
Created from perforated stainless steel and polycarbonate, these rainbow trout features are a nod to native species references. The light comes through the trout and spills on the concrete below to stimulate an immersive experience.
Balancing the right level of material transparencies to achieve the desired effect led to the successful design and fabrication of the project.
