An unprecedented gymnasium for the brain.

The Brainasium, which opened August of 2014, is a year-round playground designed to promote the connection between healthy brains and healthy bodies.

The Opportunity

Heavy was brought on by Telus Spark and O2 to provide our expertise and leverage our unique PLAN—BUILD™ process to help bring to life several of the playground elements within the Brainasium.

The Approach

Our team worked closely with the project partners to create the slide tower, glue-lam beam “zipper”, web climber, and large Newton’s cradle. Heavy’s scope included design consulting, detailed design, engineering, material procurement, fabrication, managing sub-trades, and finished install.
