Lifting Spirits On The Upswing.
Aufschwung describes a dynamically veering loop that begins in a putto who is twisting himself upward to unimagined heights.
The Opportunity
This sculpture, placed in the greater Munich area, references the special Baroque construction style widespread in southern Germany that made use of swooping elements and the figure of the putto.
The Approach
This bright, playful artwork acts as a placemaking element at the entrance of LHI Group's corporate headquarters.
Aufschwung, translating to "Upswing", is a modern take on the detailed exuberance of the German Baroque architectural style.
The putto playfully defies gravity as they soar to new heights, adding an inspiring, youthful energy to the hundreds of employees passing through this courtyard each day.
